FAQ
What if my sheet isn't flat?
What if my sheet isn't flat?
Foresso and No-Chip sheets can vary in flatness, both across the width and the length. This is due to lots of different small factors but especially with temperature.
We recommend ensuring that the top surface is warmed to allow the sheet to relax.
Both product have plenty of flex to them and can easily be fixed down using screws or other mechanical fixings.
What should I expect from the natural content?
What should I expect from the natural content?
Our wood comes from non commercial sources and we use the entire tree, from the heartwood all the way through to the sapwood and remnants of bark. Therefore our woodchips vary in colour, please refer to specific product pages for more details.
The natural content within Elenite are industrial by-products that are consistent but will still vary in colour and size.
Within a sheet you will have a variety of wood colours, as well as a variety of chip densities. Some areas will have more chips, and some will have fewer.
What is a factory edge?
What is a factory edge?
When we supply sheets that are not cut and finished they have a factory edge.
This edge is uncut and unfinished, it will be rough and may have writing, barcodes, or other marks on it. Full sheets will need to be trimmed to enable the edge to be finished.
Can I use your materials in wet rooms or outside?
Can I use your materials in wet rooms or outside?
We do not recommend using Foresso or No-Chip in wet rooms or exteriors due to their high amount of wood content.
Elenite is a solid surface and is suitable for wetter environments that need a higher level of durability, however we don't recommend it for permanent exterior installations.
Do you survey and template for bespoke worktops?
Do you survey and template for bespoke worktops?
No, we work to your dimensions and will send you a production drawing to approve.
We are happy to work with your installer to help ensure a smooth project but we don't attend site visits.
How heat resistant and durable are your materials?
How heat resistant and durable are your materials?
Foresso and No-Chip are wood based materials and should be treated as such. Elenite also contains natural material.
A hot pan off the stove will mark them but they are fine with warm plates or mugs as well as being around hobs or as backsplashes.
